Müder Vulkan
Maxeiner/Miersch über die „Klimawette“ von Stefan Rahmstorf et al.:
Ach ja, eine Rücktrittsklausel haben Sie auch noch eingebaut: Wenn ein größerer Vulkan ausbreche, dann soll die Wette nicht gelten. Wie praktisch. Es ist ein großer Vulkan ausgebrochen: der Chaitén in Chile. Und zwar einige Tage BEVOR sie ihre Klimawette ausriefen.
Schon SIEBEN TAGE VOR Erscheinen des Welt-Artikels hatten die Anbieter der Wette darauf hingewiesen, dass dieser Vulkan wohl keine Rolle spielen wird:

Nonetheless, as Chaiten is located well outside the tropic, I wouldn’t expect much in the way of any global climate impact. Nicht allzu institutionalisierte Skeptiker sind zuweilen unbequeme Denker, doch dies trifft sicher nicht auf Maxeiner/Miersch zu – die beiden „Ökooptimisten“ waren zu bequem, um die grün gefärbten Kommentare auf realclimate.org zu lesen, die von den Verfassern des Blogs stammen, welche gleichzeitig auch die Anbieter der Wette sind.
